Matt Littlewood is originally from UK and is currently living in Auroville, India.
Jazz saxophonist, pianist, composer and music teacher he studied music at Exeter University UK.
Matt is a very active member of the Indian Jazz and World music scene.

Sankarshan Kini is an independent music producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Auroville, India. He explores genres of jazz, blues, rock, folk, and funk with different independent projects. He plays guitar, violin, mandolin, trumpet, and harmonica. He scores for cinema and theater.

Aman Mahajan is an Indian pianist, composer and improviser.

Having associated with musicians of a plethora of nationalities and musical backgrounds, his work is influenced by traditional and contemporary forms from around the world, and deeply inspired by a sense of unity and connection. Mahajan is interested in musical improvisation as a tool with which to interact, explore and create.

Mahajan is presently based out of Bangalore, where he works on musical projects and teaches. He is currently active with piano-guitar duo, Tinctures. He is also a returning faculty member at the Global Music Institute, Greater Noida.

INTERNATIONAL Performance – ZCK Latin JAZZ Quartet at Kasha Ki Aasha

Kasha Ki Aasha is proud to continue its Purely Pondicherry Performance Series with the first Indian appearance of the ZCK Latin Jazz Quartet this Saturday evening at 8 pm.  The quartet featuring Greek vocalist, Christie Kanska, Czech Bassist, Zdenek Kansky and Brazilians – pianist, Antonio Guerra, and percussionist, Claudio Olveira come together for the first time in public on our breezy garden terrace this weekend.

Kasha Ki Aasha Welcomes Back Singer Songwriter Mahesh Raghunandan

Kasha Ki Aasha welcomes back Bangalore based singer songwriter Mahesh Raghunandan to our terrace this Saturday.  Mahesh, whose music combines indie folk, folk rock, pop rock and soul along with a hint of blues will be accompanied by musician, Ramanan Chandramouli  for the performance which starts at 8 pm.

Mahesh Raghunandan is influenced by artists ranging from Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra all the way to John Mayer, Damien Rice, and has opened for artists such as The Raghu Dixit Project, Bruce Lee Mani (Thermal and a Quarter), Parvaaz, The Kutle Khan Project, Sanjeev Thomas & Baiju Dharmajan and international artists such as Lucy Rose, Luke Sital-Singh from the U.K and Ty Penshorn from Australia.
Mahesh also performed as a singersongwriter at Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2015, Stage42 Festival 2016, Into the Void 2016, Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2017 and more. He has performed with Christian Galvez, one of the best Jazz musicians in the world.
Besides the solo career, Mahesh is involved in multiple collaborative projects. He is the frontman of the psychedelic/alt band Blushing Satellite.

Ramanan Chandramouli is a Los Angeles Music Academy (LAMA) graduate who has played guitar alongside Brad Rabuchin (Ray Charles), Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai), Tim Curle (Josh Groban) and has extensively toured the United States/Dubai/Malaysia. In India he has performed numerous times with Thermal and a Quarter, Lou Majaw, Adil & Vasundhara to name a few and has opened for the legendary John Mclaughlin from Shakthi and Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Aditi Ramesh is an exemplary vocalist, songwriter and producer with a herculean voice complimented by a range of techniques and tonal modulations. Having been inspired by the blues, jazz and traditional carnatic music in which she has been trained in her childhood, her organic exploration into different genres ever since has been a hallmark of her development. Formerly a corporate lawyer at AZB, the top law firm in the country, since quitting in the end of 2016, her musicality has experienced exponential growth in her soundscape, with her performance incorporating electronic drums and live keys, in which she has been classically trained in western music theory for about a decade. As well as her use of her eloquent voice as an instrument, used to create symphonic harmonies and intricate melodies. The context of her music can best be described as the usage of the mundane, as a foundation for depicting the nuanced realities facing everybody on a recurrent basis, while at the same time having a sonic content which provides funky, groovy and melodic resolutions. This sort of juxtaposition truly exemplifies her perspective of not taking oneself too seriously, as do her frequent, and at times inspiring, bouts of daydreaming. Also known to hone extraordinary culinary skills, she’s a favourite at fleas, Kitsch Mandi (Bangalore) and the Lil Flea (Mumbai) to name a renowned few integrating her pop ups with exhilarating music performances.

Konarak Reddy is the first musician on the international stage to find a new musical language with western harmonic and Indian melodic concepts on guitar. He is known for his finger-style playing, as well as for integrating Hindustani and Carnatic styles of improvisation into his guitar technique. He studied jazz improvisation at BerkleeCollege of Music and graduated with Honours from the Jazz Guitar Performance Program at Musician’s Institute, Hollywood.  Konarak began touring with his eponymous band at the age of 16 and pioneered the idea of fusion with YALI ’74.

Since the 70’s Konarak has performed and toured with a range of musicians including Don
Ross (Canada), Peter Finger (Germany), Gionni de Clemente (Italy), Dylan Fowler (Wales),
Bob Bonastre (France), Rama Mani (India), TAS Mani (India), Dr. L.Subramaniam (India),
Antonio Forcione (UK), George Laval (Germany), Maynard Fergusson (US), Embryo
(Germany) amongst others.

Konarak has also composed music for many award winning films including:

Devarakadu (1997, Kannada, feature film, dir. Pattabhi Rama Reddy)

Konarak Reddy was born in Madras and lives in Bangalore, India. His musical
influences, growing up in post-colonial India of the 50’s and 60’s, are myriad,
ranging from the ubiquitous Shubrabhatam that plays every morning all over South
India, his mother’s beloved Flamenco records, western classical music, the sounds
of the temple and the muezzin’s call, to rock and roll and jazz. He is the first
musician on the international stage to find a new musical language using western
harmonic and Indian melodic concepts on guitar. An alumni of Berklee College and
Musician’s Institute, he tours as a solo guitarist and has played with Don Ross
(Canada), Peter Finger (Germany), Jacques Stotzem (Belgium), Sandor Szabo
(Hungary), Masa Sumide (Japan), Claus Boesser-Ferrari (Germany) amongst others
on the international fingerstyle circuit. He hosts the biennial World Guitar Nights
and All India FingerStyle Competition. He has two guitar-centric albums –
Searching for the Goddess and Solar Avatar. He plays a handmade Abe Wechter
Pathmaker, Gibson Hummingbird, Zane PC electric and Parker Fly. Konarak lives in
Bangalore, South India.
He travels as a solo performer for both concerts and workshops.

Zui Kumar-Reddy grew up in an old house in Bangalore, India. She majored in
Biology at Warren Wilson College, North Carolina. Her minors included jazz
guitar and creative writing. She has been playing guitar with the WWC Jazz
Ensemble for the past four years and plays every week with various bands and
line ups at Tressa’s Jazz and Blues Bar, Pisgah Brewery and other local
venues in Asheville, NC.
